ESSENCE AND PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT AND GREEN ECONOMY
AIMING AT EFFICIENT USE OF RESOURCES AND ENERGY IN INDUSTRY OF UKRAINE
Introduction: Considerable consumption of energy, unjustified high
share of natural gas in energetic balance of Ukrainian economy, directives and
demands of European Union and some other international institutions cause the
necessity of changes in national economy, and firstly, achievement of stable
and steady development. Aims and Objectives: To consider the essence of
economic development concepts, namely, steady development of brown, green and
blue economy types; to analyze preconditions for transforming Ukrainian economy
into green economy especially such branches as housing and communal services,
transportation, energy production, industry, agriculture, tourism,
construction, forestry and fishery; to confirm the necessity of restructuring
Ukrainian food processing industry owing to its priority and strategic
importance as well as potential consumption of ‘green’ agricultural product. Methods: Theoretical generalization and
comparison, factor and systematic analysis. Results: Task complex and
corresponding measures for ‘greening’ Ukrainian food processing industry have
been suggested. Current quality standard systems that are used to ensure the
‘greening’ of economy and its products, as well as experience of conformity
certificate obtaining by native food-producing enterprises have been
investigated. Effect groups resulting from Ukrainian food processing industry
‘greening’ implementation have been determined and systematized.
Key words: sustainable
development, green
economy, food
industry, tasks
and actions of ecologization,
