ESSENCE AND PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT AND GREEN ECONOMY AIMING AT EFFICIENT USE OF RESOURCES AND ENERGY IN INDUSTRY OF UKRAINE

 

Introduction: Considerable consumption of energy, unjustified high share of natural gas in energetic balance of Ukrainian economy, directives and demands of European Union and some other international institutions cause the necessity of changes in national economy, and firstly, achievement of stable and steady development. Aims and Objectives: To consider the essence of economic development concepts, namely, steady development of brown, green and blue economy types; to analyze preconditions for transforming Ukrainian economy into green economy especially such branches as housing and communal services, transportation, energy production, industry, agriculture, tourism, construction, forestry and fishery; to confirm the necessity of restructuring Ukrainian food processing industry owing to its priority and strategic importance as well as potential consumption of ‘green’ agricultural product. Methods: Theoretical generalization and comparison, factor and systematic analysis. Results: Task complex and corresponding measures for ‘greening’ Ukrainian food processing industry have been suggested. Current quality standard systems that are used to ensure the ‘greening’ of economy and its products, as well as experience of conformity certificate obtaining by native food-producing enterprises have been investigated. Effect groups resulting from Ukrainian food processing industry ‘greening’ implementation have been determined and systematized.

Key words: sustainable development, green economy, food industry, tasks and actions of ecologization, effects of ecologization implementation.
