COMPARATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EXISTING APPROACHES TO MATERIALS MANAGEMENT AT INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES

Backgound: Stochasticity of social and economic processes and volatility of markets causes confusion and substantially increases risks of economies of individual enterprises. Changes in the business environment, in its turn, make managers find appropriate approaches and principles of management in order to increase flexibility and competitiveness of industrial enterprises. Aims and Objectives: Analysis and synthesis of existing approaches to materials management at industrial enterprises and research of approaches to the definition of "system" and "process". Methods: Logical and comparative analysis, method of grouping. Results: The article gives description of existing approaches to materials management at industrial enterprises; research approaches to the definition of "system" and "process". Conclusion: Use of the process approach in management of industrial enterprises permits to build the enterprise management system, reduce the overhead of interacting units, increase the speed of decision making, inhance the company's ability to respond flexibly to market changes.
